In the traditional hammam, black soap is not simply a scrub, it's a ritual. It's important to understand the ceremony to fully indulge and gets all the benefits from the soap famous for its gentle exfoliation.
First, a visit to the hammam (sauna) or a hot shower is essential to prepare and moisten the skin. Then, black soap is applied all over the body in a thin layer. After a resting period of about five to fifteen minutes, the soap can then be rinsed with lots of water. Your skin is now ready for deep tissue scrubbing with the kessa glove. You should follow by a purifying massage or even better, a royal massage.

How to use black soap:

Black soap is used in the same way as any regular soap but generates very little foam. Therefore, the black soap has to be applied by massaging moist skin evenly during a hot bath or shower

Leave the soap on for 5 minutes, then scrub the skin vigorously with the Kessa glove. Do not worry if you see dark particles appear: it is simply dry dead skin coming off your body

Black soap body, face and hair daily routine
Like the swiss army knife of beauty, you can use it while indulging in a hammam or you can use it at home daily to get all the benefits days after days. Here are the other possible use of this wonderful product.
Daily facial wash You only need the size of a penny in the palm of your hand and mix with little bit of water to wash efficiently by applying to face and neck then rinse. Test the effect on your skin before using daily. If the skin gets too dry, you can add 3 drop of pure argan oil before adding water. Use once or twice a day.

Daily body wash Like a regular soap everyday and with the kessa glove once or twice a week. |
Occasional Shampoo Great way to get rid of pellicule, you can use black soap to deeply wash your scalp. Rinse with lukewarm water and follow with your regular shammpoo. |
Shaving cream Used by many Moroccan as a shaving cream, the black soap work great when using a badger hair brush to work up the lather on the soap. You can also work up the lather in your hands and apply to areas that you’re going to shave.

Liquid soap Since the black soap is organic and dosent contains chemical to make it bound forever, if you let your black soap jar in the shower or hot environnement, il may become liquid. Don't worry you can use it the way as any liquid body wash. |
Facial exfoliation Apply the black soap by avoiding areas around the eyes and mouth. To use the kessa glove on the face, you should first rinse the glove thoroughly with hot water. Rub very delicately with the mitt to avoid irritation during or after rinsing and you will get a deep cleanse. |
